Case Officer in Population Registration

As a case officer in population registration, you will have a varied and educational job that involves conducting investigations, contacting our customers, and other partners.

About the Job

You primarily work within the settlement area, which involves gathering information, conducting analyses, and making decisions on various population registration matters. Administrative tasks are also part of the job. The content, breadth, and complexity of the work are determined based on the needs of the organization.

You meet people from different backgrounds, mainly via phone and written correspondence. You largely plan your own workday and drive your cases both independently and in collaboration with others. You work closely with your colleagues in a team, providing and receiving support from each other. You develop your skills in everyday work and gain new knowledge both broadly and in depth. The job involves many contacts, for example, with customers and other authorities. You are comfortable using the phone as a work tool.

Depending on the needs of the organization, it may also be necessary to conduct control visits, which means visiting private individuals and properties as part of our investigations.

You have flexible working hours, and it is a given for us that you should have a balance between work and leisure. You belong to one of our two population registration sections in Population Registration Unit 1 within the Department of Tax and Property, located in Falun. In our respective sections, we are about 15 colleagues.

You should also have:

• A bachelor's degree of at least 180 higher education credits (120 credits) in law, economics, behavioral science, or social science.
• A valid driver's license (B).

Relevant work experience from the public sector where you have worked with case management and decision-making is desirable. It is also desirable that you have relevant work experience from the public sector in customer service where you have communicated information and handled challenging conversations.

Good to Know

The employment is permanent and may begin with a six-month probationary period.

Employment with us means placement in a security class. A security review with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) will be conducted before a decision on employment. For some of our tasks in security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
